Friday

Being early has been a whole week routine already... and in some ways, except for the occasional sleepy spells, I've adjusted my system to waking up early... Of course, it also means going home early... At least for this week, as the higher ups are busy with the Chinese New Year festivities...

I guess morning coffee taste much better when you're using it to rejuvenate your system... it's a order with a few weeks before board meeting and so much more to do... The lead time is stressfull already so no use to worry about the idea that the deadline is dying... hehe...

Had a nice time meeting SGV friends at Italiani's last Tuesday with FAA, Jay Anne, Arlyn, Carol and Cathy... I'm no longer used to the frequent dinners with friends... A little bit more domesticated... But it's always fun getting together sometime... or somewhere (as most of my friends are foreign based already)...

Treated myself to Spa yesterday... With the waking up early routine... it's really a welcome treat... I was craving for a good massage even while I was in Cambodia last week but somehow I wasn't able to squeeze it in lazy weekend routine...

It's not gonna be a lazy Friday as there's so much to do... and I do plan to leave earlier... while I can (I even brought my trusty HP Mini Laptop to be able to access files even if I'm out of office)... hehe... =>

An Earlier Monday...

Chinese New Year Monday and there's such peace and quiet... a little on the edge of being a bit boring... though some surprises is starting to pop up... I'd take a boring day of peace than the usual stressful routine...

Had an early start today... Now I know that it's a bit dark at 6 am... relegated to hell's pit (basement 4) at Somerset since Jing would be using my B2 parking slot... Undeveloped region since it's a bit harder to park down there since there are still no lines to guide... Anyway, it's a favor to do for a friend...

I'll be off at 5 pm today and I'm not sure if it should be a good thing since I can only bring my car out of hell's pit at 7 pm due to coding... hmm... I should just enjoy the so little time that the world does not revolve around me... and soon it'll be back to those time...

And an earlier Monday also means earlier to go home... hehe... I'm going for earlier says ahead... =>

Excess Inkblogs: How I wasted time 5-7 without car??? Ride with Jing til Q Ave and take the MRT back... haha... Crazy and Funny... =>

Blue in Red

Time to temporarily shed Ateneo's blue color for Jan's favorite color which is red... It was first time to meet AGSB friends for the year... and of course, what better place to meet than the place it all began... Good Earth Rockwell...

Lazy day for me leads to Jan's advance bday celebration and it was a nice time to reconnect and just plainly have fun... with a some foods... drinks and the merriment that a gathering among friends brings... in a red themed party...
Long night and I stayed until 2 am... and now I decided to upload the pics before I doze off... and I'm definitely going to sleep 'til mid Sunday... It's a weekend after all... hehe... Happy Birthday Jan!!!

Things are heating up...

Even a bit detached at work, I can feel that things are heating up and the work load is slowly creeping in... and there's really much pressure to finish as much before the Chinese New Year begins since several decision makers would be of the radar... I guess that also means less calls and emails to answer... Yipee!!!

It's been interesting how I've been out of the office when I get queries from higher ups... well that's the value of technology... I can be anywhere and be just a phone call or email away... Good thing, I'm not on Blackberry since it's gonna be difficult being bombarded by email every now and then... A little part of me still want to be detached from work... Maybe I should return my office SIM... hehe...

The good thing is I'm not in the usual grumpy mood at this time... not yet anyway... hehe... Glad to have those little escapes like a short drive to Rockwell or the Fort or Gbelt... coffee... lunch... dinners... friends... parties (yehey, tomorrow's Jan's party!!!)... and of course, those lazy weekends... There should be some balance somehow...

Well, as things are heating up... tough times would be approaching shortly... I just hope that I'd remain calm and compose at all time... We'll see but I won't really bet on it... hehe... =>

Apprehended...

A little while ago, I've been a part of several vehicles flagged down by MMDA people because of using the bus lane going to Buendia, which is a common passage for vehicles coming from Rockwell... but apparently they have suddenly tightened the rules and apprehended several vehicles at this strip...

Ok I'll pay my fine hoping that it does go to public use and not for some MMDA head with political aspiration... a theory which does make sense considering all those lifesize billboards along EDSA... but I'd rather not dwell on that theory but I really don't see the sense of trying to crowd the outer lane if your just passing by that strip to Buendia that doesn't even register a movement on your mileage counter... That really does more harm than good...

Then next I was warned for not using my lights where it was clear that my midlights was on... though my car model had the light in the side front area... which should be a common knowledge by now since there are so many Honda cars in the street... Anyway, was able to have this waived...

Just noticed that it's being a trend for suddenly having some areas having surprise rules... I just remember that towards the beginning of the year they had suddenly made tight no left turn rule in Metropolitan Avenue... I just want to think that they are trying to improve the traffic situation even if some rules don't make sense...Well, I'll just charge it to experience and I'm definetly not voting for the guy in those billboards... =>

Excess Inkblogs: I really don't know how to classify this blog:
Is this the blog you write when you're pissed off?
Is this the blog you write or don't want to write because you're embarassed?
Is this the blog when you want to warn people?
Is this the blog I want to be socially relevant or irrelevant?
I think it falls in a fragment of each of the above... =>

Bangkok Layover

I'm on my first hour of my four hour layover in Bangkok Airport... seeping my Tall Starbucks Mocha... What to do in such a long time??? alone.... waah...

The bankers which I went to Cambodia with had a day trip to Angkor Wat... Not for me this time since been there 2x and there's tons of work to do... So the short part of the story is I'm alone in Bangkok Airport... waiting for my boarding call... So just have to exhaust mt one hour worth of internet here and then off to the shops... I hope I do get to bring home some tamarind and dried fruits... yum... yum... and I hope that I don't exhaust my card in those long hours... hehe...

Short eventful trip... starting with the trip to Cambodia... too much food from the plane to the airport... and eventually in Cambodia... Another plant tour and presentation in Kampong Cham, Cambodia... did something ala Fear Factor, trying the exotic black spider (not really bad as it seems)... and then all the usual alcohol involved in the traditional chinese dinners... we did stop by intercon for some entertainment... and sleep (had evade me yesterday) so I'm really appreciating my coffee today...

Barely had the energy to drag myself to catch my 10am flight and slept half of my flight to Bangkok and all this while trying to be in the loop of everything going on in the Ph... Yearend stuff... Haay.... so many things ongoing with the Chinese New Year approaching... Thank God for roaming... I'm still in the loop of all those events...

I'm probably out of credits in a while so I guess my wait has to resume without the internet access... good luck to me and my wallet (they have such a big duty free shope here).... hehe... =>

Weekend Blog

The work is starting to pour in but we're still trying to be efficient by avoiding extra work hours... though I've been stuck in meetings and presentation toward the end part of the week... Of course, still no weekend work for me... In fact, our CEO phoned me earlier and thinking something is bothering me since for the second straight weekend when he called me, I was at home...

Nothing unusual about that really... except that our CEO is really such a workaholic... Too bad for him, I am not... hehe... Even without working extra hours, I'm proud to say, I'm able to accomplish much... My personal challenge to be as efficient as ever... and I guess, I should preserve my energy for the audit crunch shortly ahead... and I need to conserve my patience as well...

It's been a nice week being able to meet former FAA Babies last Tuesday... Al, Gemma, Therry, Teng and Jo-C (Dodoy also via phone patch)... It could have been more but there was a mix up in FAA's schedule... Nice time since it's been quite a while and there's so many things that have changed already...

Next week, a short visit to Cambodia via Thailand to tour some bankers... My travel schedule started a lot earlier but at least, it'll just be a very short trip and will be back by Wednesday... though I'm still thinking on what to do on all those hours waiting at Bangkok Airport... I better store some entertainment in my HP Mini laptop...

Time has move fast and I'm surprised that it's past mid-January... But if I have my way, I'd like it to slow down a bit as there'll be a tough stretch ahead... =>

Blog Time

The good thing after coming to work early on Monday due to coding is being able to squeeze some time to blog... and there's also a thought that in the next few days, I don't have to wake up this early...

Week 1 of work has past... and I'm still craving for new beginnings... but there's still some unfinished business before that happens... Some vicious cycles are still prevalent... but I'm a little bit more detached... It's just work!!! I just have to leave by the day and be thankful that there's some reason to smile...

It's a lazy weekend... or may I say a lazy week... with me being a bit more domesticated except for late night movie on Saturday and dinner with relatives in Philam Homes yesterday... but the nice part of being at home is that I can have more time for Wii workouts... and I'm slowly shedding the holiday pounds...

It'll be a more challenging week... year end chores... bank presentation... and finalizing some requirements before I leave for a short trip in Cambodia next week... Yeah, My travel calendar has started... and there's also that important task of finalizing the details of my Bohol holiday with Family come holy week (Better early than never... hehe)...

It's about time for work... better be at my OC mode to finish my powerpoint presentation... =>

Holiday Lag

I've only had an hour and a half sleep... Holiday Lag... The time wherein your body clock has not adjust to work mode from the previous vacation mode... It's a bit difficult to wake up early in the morning when you've been used for the past 12 days to wake up when you want to... and the same goes to the sleeping time... a switch in time zone...

Early Monday morning and I just have the trusty Starbucks Cafe Mocha to keep me awake... a lot of things to do... there's always the desire to start the new year on the right foot... and then again there's the Franckee McSleepy mentality of half awake Mondays...

A quarter in me wants to say that I'm glad to be back work but I guess the rest is still craving that the holidays don't end... another case of Holiday Hangover... It'll be those usual difficult audit times ahead... and then there's all those funding issues to resolve... so can't blame me for wanting to revert to holidays...

Reality has to set in... and it'll sink soon that it's back to those nerve-wracking stress-ridden days... All part of a days work... =>

Still Awake

The problem with waking up so late on a lazy Sunday is being able to count enough sheep to doze off... and it's gonna be a sleepy Monday tomorrow considering I have to go to the office early due to my coding cut off... it's gonna be odd to be sleepy after such a long breather...

I guess there are some drawbacks to long holidays like this... more time, means also more time... to spend... to eat... but at least all the rest, the road trips, the family and friends gathering is worth all the cent I spent and pounds I gained (waah... need to shed some pounds...)... End of the happy days and welcome back to those pressure-ridden days...

Anyway, I'm quite ecstatic with the new year... went to Manila early (missed Jingy bear's visit to Baguio)... Met with She and friends at Serendra (Nice dinner and She I hope you don't forget to renew your passport so we can have more dinner here... hehe...)... and then attended Charm's 2nd Birthday (Had a nice time since I did meet some SGV friends I haven't met for a long time... Charm, hope to see you on your future birthdays)... and had a lazy Sunday to pamper myself (Too pampered to grab some sleep... hehe)... A nice way to wrap up a long vacation...

Well, let me try to will myself to sleep cause it's past midnight and I'm still Awake... =>

Happy New Year 2k9!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

New beginnings... a bit excited on what's in store for 09... Had a nice new year's eve celebration with round 2 of the singing... hehe... It's a bit more fireworks this year... Glad to see that despite the times, people still have the mood to celebrate... I guest, it's quite a big ghost of 2k8 to drive out...

Anyway, the only word that makes new beginnings something to look forward to... HOPE... Hope for more blessings and better times ahead... =>
